On the twelfth day of Advent, the WoffBoot brought to me ... Twelve Elves Off The Shelves
Nice models they are too, if a little monopose (there are only two different styles... if you look hard enough). Good detailing on the robes and armour, but nothing too fussy. Only the eyes are the problem - it's no fun painting the gaps in those Corinthian helmets.
You may be wondering how such a sluggardly painter like myself is able to crank out double-figures for this Advent challenge. Aside from that fact that a couple of these updates were half-finished projects that just needed a push to finish, these Elves were done from scratch since the start of December.
It really is a quick paint scheme, and I wanted to experiment with what washes over grey primer could achieve:
It was such a simple scheme, even I couldn't drag my heels. I've had this unit on the side while I painted the other stuff, then finished with some details.
Easy-peasy - which is fortunate, as I've got another score to paint!

Fancy, fragile, functionally useless ... Elves, how we've missed you! |
Let's get these guys back to Santa!
In the heady days when we all loved Peter Jackson movies (think back, it happened), I jumped on the bandwagon and bought myself the Fellowship of the Ring box set. I never really played the game, but a mere 15 years later - here are the models.

- Cloak: Drakenhof Nightshade wash, White Scar drybrush
- Armour: Auric Armour Gold, Reikland Fleshshade wash, Gehenna Gold drybrush
- Robes: Caledor Sky, Drakenhof Nightshade wash,
- Sashes: Nuln Oil wash
