Pootle here with some pics from my newest army. Which isn't really new, just a rebrand.
I've been collecting a Purge army for some time but the latest CSM Codex does away with them completely. I don't fancy repainting them, so I've constructed a narrative where Gormenghastly has decided to throw in his lot with a Khorne-aligned strand of the Black Legion. Gormenghastly's tendency towards mass-murder, particularly in the Averment campaign, has always felt rather closely aligned with Khorne. To be clear, all the former-Purge forces remain aligned with Nurgle, but I decided to add a load of new models who would be Khorne aligned.
Stylus and I have had a narrative battle that delved into the exact circumstances of Gormenghastly's decision to join the Black Legion...I will get that batrep written up...at some point!
Accordingly I decided not to follow the traditional Black Legion paint scheme, but came up with something that reflected the Purge scheme but with a different colour depending on which god that unit followed. That means I can extend the army to add in Tzeentch or Slaanesh in the future.
